Angry mob demand justice for Hanifa, sets school on fire

Angry youths has on Monday set Noble Kids School on fire where slain Hanifa Abubakar attended.

However, the school proprietor was involved in the act of her abduction, poisoning to death and burial despite collecting ransom.

The Kano State government had ordered the school’s immediate closure following the arrest of the school proprietor.

There has been widespread outrage over the killing, with President Muhammadu Buhari assuring that justice will be served on the perpetrators of the crime.

 National Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS) Kano Chapter has condemned the brutal killing of young pupil Hanifa by her teacher in Kano.

National President of AMIS Malam Saleh Adamu Kwaru stated this in a resolution by the executive members meeting of the AMIS in Kano.

Kwaru said that the unfortunate situation could not be found in any of the members of Islamic Schools, as Islam condemned such an act in totality.

“Proprietors of private schools should live up with the trust of the children under their care, which is regarded as ‘Amana’.

“To the parents, there’s need for retraining our kids to be security vigilance with anything that did not suit their mind and assigning somebody responsible for taking of their kids and too and from school.

“We hope this will not create too much gap between the parents and the teachers because there will be mistrust among them now,” Kwaru.

The Association of Islamic Schools itself from such an act, which advises the authorities to do everything possible to make sure the teacher punish according to his actions so that similar unfortunate situations will not happen in the future.

AMIS then sympathised with the parents of late Hanifa and commended the front action of the Kano State Government, inclosure of the school, for the investigation to take place.

On April 3, 2025, at approximately 1130 hours, a group of armed bandits riding motorcycles, opened fire on a commercial vehicle traveling from Kebbi to Sokoto.

The attack resulted in the death of one Dan Gande Usman, who was shot in the head. The victim succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

In response to the attack, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were deployed to the area to ensure sanity.

Bandits Attack Rijiya Village in Zamfara, Kill Eight, Set School Ablaze

A deadly bandit attack on Rijiya Village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State has left eight people dead and a primary school set on fire.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that at approximately 1600 hours, on April 3, a group of armed bandits, heavily armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons, invaded the village.

The assailants opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CPG) and six civilians.

In addition to the loss of lives, the bandits set fire to a primary school that was being occupied by the CPG members.

Police Inspector Killed in Terrorist Attack at Gwoza, Borno

A police inspector was killed during an ambush by suspected Boko Haram insurgents at the Police Mobile Force Training College (PMFTC) Camp Limankara, Gwoza.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at approximately 0600 hours on April 3, 2025, while a team of officers, including those from Mopol Training School Gwoza and various Mobile Police Force units, were on foot patrol.

Inspector Andrawus Musa, attached to 6PMF Maiduguri, was fatally injured during the attack. His service rifle, an AK-47, was taken by the assailants.

The victim was immediately evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The body has been deposited at the hospital for autopsy.
