Armed men kill reverend, injure wife in Plateau attack

A 65-year-old Reverend, Mimang Lekyil, was shot dead while his wife, Janet Mimang, sustained gunshot injuries to her leg during an attack by armed men in Kwakas, Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. The victims were reportedly targeted inside their residence.
The sources said that the police were notified and promptly visited the scene, documenting the crime through photographs.
He noted that the injured woman was rushed to Dung Clinic for medical treatment, while the deceased’s body was deposited at Luna Hospital Morgue in Bokkos for autopsy.
According to him, the Plateau State Police Command has launched an investigation and vowed to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
He added that the command urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to restore peace in the area.
