Buni promises to deliver on social support; economic development in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, in a meeting with traditional rulers yesterday, resolved to expand skill acquisition and agricultural programs to enhance social support and economic development.

He said the government would continue to prioritize social support through empowerment schemes and trainings for youths and women to cushion the current socio-economic difficulties.

This was disclosed to newsmen after the meeting by the Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego.

“The state government will continue to prioritize community engagement through local government councils, traditional institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to be fully informed on government policies and programs” he said.

According to him, the meeting emphasized the need for local government and traditional councils to continue to attend to local and community matters to strengthen trust, good neighborliness, and community cohesion.

The meeting commended the state government for the multi-billion-naira agricultural empowerment program launched by the state government.

The meeting also called on the people to remain law-abiding and continue to pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) for the security, peace, and prosperity of the state and the nation.

The meeting, chaired by Governor Mai Mala Buni, was attended by the deputy governor, 14 emirs, commissioners, secretary to the state government, head of service, chief of staff to the governor, and local government chairmen.
