Clash Between Commuters and Customs Officers Leads to Accident and Mob Violence in Maiadua, Kastina

A clash between a Customs patrol team and commuters resulted in a serious accident at Koza Village, Maiadua Local Government Area (LGA), on April 8, 2025, at around 8:35 p.m.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the Customs team was in pursuit of a commuter vehicle when the incident occurred.

In the aftermath, an angry mob set fire to the Customs camp in retaliation for the accident. The situation escalated, but the Division Police Officer (DPO) quickly mobilized police personnel to the scene to restore order.

As of now, the situation has been brought under control, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.

Armed Bandits Attack Villages in Zamfara, One Dead and Several Abducted

Armed bandits have launched deadly attacks in two villages in Zamfara State, leaving one person dead and several others abducted, according to reports from the Zamfara State Police Command.

Zagazola Makama was informed by Intelligence sources that In the first incident, on April 11, 2025, at about 2300hrs, armed bandits invaded Tabkin Maza village, located in the Nassarawa District of Bakura Local Government Area (LGA).

The bandits shot and killed one individual before abducting an undisclosed number of people. Police visited the scene, and the body of the deceased was released to relatives for burial.

A second attack occurred on April 12, 2025, at about 1840hrs, when bandits struck Tsageru Village in Tsafe LGA. The assailants shot and injured one person, and also set several houses on fire.

The injured victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

In response to the attacks, the military personnel from Operation Fansar Yamma, based at Tsafe, have intensified their operations in the area to apprehend the attackers.

Police Arrest Four Notorious Armed Robbers and Car Snatchers, Recover Stolen Vehicles Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four notorious armed robbers and car snatchers suspected to have been involved in several vehicle thefts across Abuja.

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended on April 11, 2025, following actionable intelligence that led detectives from the Life Camp Division to Kado village, where two of the suspects were arrested.

Further investigation revealed the involvement of additional suspects, and police subsequently arrested two more individuals at Gwarinpa, with one of the suspects, Mohammed Abdulazeez, identified as the receiver of the stolen vehicles. Abdulazeez was apprehended at Wuse Zone 4.

The suspects confessed to stealing four vehicles in Abuja, two in March 2025 and another two in April 2025. Authorities have intensified efforts to arrest their leader and recover the stolen vehicles.

The sources said that the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) is handling the ongoing investigation.

Police Arrest Four Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Firearms in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers in Rijau Local Government Area and recovered firearms used in their criminal activities.

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest followed a report received from the Divisional Police Officer in Rijau on April 12, 2025, at about 9:00 a.m.

The suspects, identified as Shehu Mohammed (35) of Tunga Magajiya, Mamman Sani of Conner Shenjiri, Daudu Mohammed (37) of Udu, and Jibrin Ahmodu of Genu, were found in possession of two locally made pistols and a dane gun.

The sources said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were responsible for the abduction of one Amina Mallam Sarkin-Noma Gatta, a resident of Agwa Gwanda village, in March 2025.

According to police sources, after arranging for a ransom of ₦3 million, the victim managed to escape from captivity the following day and later identified one of her abductors.

All four suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime and are currently in police custody.
