DELEGATION FROM SOKOTO VISITS BORNO TO INSPIRE FROM ITS REMARKABLE SUCCESS STORY

In a bid to revamp the Education sector in Sokoto state, Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Mohammed Tukur Alkali and the AGILE team have visited Maiduguri to embarked on a fact-finding mission.
Commissioner of EDUCATION Science Technology and Innovation Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe warmly received the education delegation from Sokoto to learn from the Borno initiative’s innovative approach to repositioning the education sector, particularly the AGILE project.
In addition , the team who had gone round some school projects constructed and reconstructed were amazed by the modern and well-designed structures that dot the landscape of Borno State.
The Sokoto Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education Mohammed Tukur Alkali praised the foresight of Sokoto Governor Ahmed Ali, who sent them to Borno to learn from the state’s strategies, acknowledging the importance of learning from others and adapting successful initiatives to improve their own education sector.
Borno state Commissioner of Education, Science Technology and Innovation Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe made known efforts of Borno state government for the resilient buildings that have replaced the over 5,000 school infrastructures destroyed by the insurgency.
Similarly, the Commissioner also highlighted government’s efforts to rebuild and renovate schools, bringing the number of out-of-school children down from 2.2 million to less than 800, attributing this success to the visionary leadership of Governor Zulum, who has made education a top priority.
Furthermore, the Sokoto delegation departed, armed with new knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose, eager to implement the strategies they learned in Borno, with the goal of transforming the education sector in Sokoto state.
