Education: Zulum releases N476.6 million for 15,374 Borno students

Over four hundred and seventy-six million naira has been approved by the Borno state government as scholarships to cater for 15,384 students across various institutions to boost their studies.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum signed the approval for the release of the sum of N476,640,000 for payment of 2020/2021 scholarship to citizens of Borno State in tertiary institutions.

The Commissioner for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Engr. Babagana Mallumbe Mustapha announced the release of these amounts in Maiduguri, after a meeting with the National Union of Borno State Students (NUBOSS) at the Borno State Scholarship Board in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Engr. Babagana Mallumbe disclosed that e-payments will apply for the disbursements to all beneficiaries.

The Executive Secretary scholarship Board Mallam Bala Isa called on benefiting students to face their studies seriously.

On behalf of all benefiting students, the President of the National Union of Borno State Students (NUBOSS), Comrade Sugun Abba commended Governor Zulum for his passion for the welfare of students in Borno state.

He also commended the government’s commitment towards improving the standard of education in the state.
