FCT Police Arrest Seven Suspects, Recover Locally Made Pistol in Jikwoyi

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) FCT Command has arrested seven suspects and recovered a locally made pistol following a raid in Phase 4, Unguwar Fulani, Jikwoyi, intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama

The sources said that acting on actionable intelligence regarding an unusual gathering of youths in the area, The Police swiftly mobilized a patrol team in collaboration with local vigilantes and conducted a raid on March 7, 2025, at about 10:30 a.m.

During the operation, a locally made pistol, one cartridge, an AK-47 rifle ammunition, a spring, pliers, and rings suspected to be voodoo items were recovered from the suspects.

The source confirmed that the arrested individuals were undergoing interrogation, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) had taken over the investigation.

In another operation, the FCT Police Command recovered a Lexus 460 SUV (2010 model), ash in color, Reg. No. KWL 403 CM, stolen at gunpoint from a motorist in River Park Estate, Abuja.

According to sources, Morgan Tom West, a resident of Paul Odilli Crescent, Cluster One, River Park Estate, reported that while he had stopped along the expressway to receive a call, four armed hoodlums attacked him and snatched his vehicle at gunpoint on March 6, 2025, at about 8:39 p.m.

Upon receiving the report, police personnel at entry and exit points across the FCT were immediately placed on high alert. Less than an hour later, at about 9:46 p.m., the stolen vehicle was intercepted by Supol Bwari after a gun duel with the suspects.

“The hoodlums managed to escape into the bush, but the vehicle was successfully recovered,” said the sources.

The River Park Division is conducting further investigations, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects.
