Gunmen Kidnap Four Students in Katsina State

Suspected armed bandits have abducted four students from Paris Quarters, behind the Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina State, security sources told Zagazola Makama on Sunday.
The attack occurred at about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, when the assailants, reportedly in large numbers, quietly invaded the area and whisked away four individuals.
The victims have been identified as Wali Kayode (25), Fahad Muhammad (20), Emmanuel (surname unknown), and another yet-to-be-identified person.
Security operatives were mobilized to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call but the bandits had fled.
Security sources said that Efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims safely.

Troops Rescue Five Kidnapped Victims, Arrest Three Suspected Kidnappers in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), have rescued five kidnapped victims and arrested three suspected kidnappers during a clearance operation at Boto Forest in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama on Sunday that the operation, which was based on intelligence, was conducted around 12:30 p.m. on March 2.

According to the source, troops engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee.
The rescued victims were identified as Abdullahi Saleh, 38; Blessed Haruna, 17; Mary Nuhu, 32; Charity Nuhu, 35; and Abubakar Wakili, 25.
Troops also arrested three suspected kidnappers: Abubakar Shehu, 30; Mohammed Sani, 20; and Adamu Mohammed, 25.
Further search of the hideout led to the recovery of one fabricated revolver rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two mobile phones, two cutlasses, 32 rustled cows, and a cash sum of N521,000.

The rescued victims were debriefed and reunited with their families, while one victim who sustained machete cuts was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
The arrested suspects and recovered items are in custody, while efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend other fleeing members of the criminal gang.

Bandits Kill One, Abduct Several in Zamfara and Sokoto Attacks

Suspected armed bandits have launched separate attacks in Zamfara and Sokoto States, killing one person and abducting an unspecified number of residents, intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama on Sunday.
In Zamfara State, the attack occurred at Unguwar S/Musulmi Village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The assailants shot and killed a 60-year-old resident, Malam Rilwanu Liman, before abducting an unspecified number of people to an undisclosed location.
Similarly, in Sokoto State, armed bandits stormed Munki Village in Wurno Local Government Area at about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, firing sporadically before abducting a yet-to-be-determined number of residents.

Bandits Kill 10, Injure One in Attack on Mining Site in Niger State

Armed bandits have killed at least 10 people and injured one in an attack on a local mining site in Karaga Village, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred on February 26 when a large number of insurgents stormed the mining site and opened fire on workers, but we received the news on Sunday March 2 due to lack of communication.
It was gathered that the gunmen arrived on motorcycles, shooting indiscriminately before targeting miners and local residents.
The victims were identified as: Lurwsnu Saidu (32), Zubairu Ibrahim (27), Tasiu Danlami (31), Zanaidu Ibrahim (36), Haliru Ibrahim (33), Abbas Abdulhamid (40), Uzairu Ibrahim (32), Umaru Aliyu (22), Dahiru Fadama (29), and Alheri Gambo (21, the only female victim).
Another victim, Sabiu Yakubu (25), sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand and is currently receiving treatment at Erena Comprehensive Health Centre.
The sources said that the assailants are part of a terrorist network operating in Shiroro LGA, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted mining sites, villages, and security personnel in recent months.
