Kano Police Intercept Tramadol Worth Over N150m, Arrest Two Suspects

The Kano State Police Command has intercepted a mini truck carrying six large bales of suspected tramadol tablets concealed beneath bags of cement, with an estimated street value of over N150 million.

Police sources said the seizure was made during a sting operation at Alharini village in the Ungogo Local Government Area.

According to the source, the truck was intercepted while disguised as transporting cement, but a thorough search revealed the concealed drugs.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. They are Imrana Rabiu, the truck driver from Bene town in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu of Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The sources reiterated the command’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and other criminal activities in the state in collaboration with other security agencies.

Katsina police arrest gun runners, recover AK-47 magazines and ammunition

Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected gun runners and recovered six AK-47 magazines and 305 rounds of live ammunition.

Sources said that on Jan. 27 at about 1400 hours, police on stop-and-search duty along Zaria Road intercepted two men riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner.

The suspects were identified as Shuaibu Musa, also known as Abba, aged 30, and Ahmed Sani, 27, both from Ruwan Godiya Village, Faskari LGA.

A search of their luggage led to the discovery of the weapons and ammunition. Preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects procured the items from Jos for delivery to a notorious bandit leader, Isiya Kwashen Garwa.

The suspects and recovered exhibits are in police custody, while discreet investigation continues.

Bandits abduct businessman and two wives in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command is investigating the abduction of a businessman and his two wives in the state.

It was gathered that on Jan. 29 at about 3:15 a.m., Alh. Ali Mada, 60, a businessman, along with his wives, Zainab Ali, 50, and Rakiya Ali, 48, were abducted by armed bandits.

The attack reportedly occurred quietly, with no gunfire or disturbance heard from the victims’ residence.

Security forces promptly mobilized a team to the scene to gather information and begin investigations. Efforts to trace and rescue the abducted family members are ongoing.

Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.

Security forces intercept gunrunner delivering arms to Zamfara bandit Kingpin Abdul Baleri

Security forces in Sokoto State intercepted two suspected gunrunners transporting weapons to a notorious bandit kingpin in Zamfara State.

A source said on Jan. 27 at about 10:00 p.m., personnel from PMF 7, conducting routine stop-and-search operations at Bimasa in Tureta Local Government Area, stopped two men riding motorcycles who appeared suspicious.

The suspects were identified as Alkamatu Nasiru and Shahidu Ibrahim, both from Yan Matankari Village, Anka LGA, Zamfara State. Upon search, they were found wearing army camouflage bulletproof jackets under their native attire and in possession of two knives.

“The suspects confessed that they were en route to receive AK-47 rifles for delivery to Abdul Baleri, a known bandit kingpin operating in Zamfara,” the source added.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the firearms and identify other accomplices involved in the illicit arms supply.
