There has been urgent calls on the Federal, government with the military might to take swift action to rescue the 176 abducted residents of woro community back to safety away from captivity.
This came about after a disturbing video clip showing captured residents of the recent attack in Woro community, Kaiama council Area of Kwara State, surfaced online.
In the video, several women and young children, including infants, were paraded by the terrorists looking distressed and helpless.
A voice believed to be that of one of the attackers was heard behind the camera speaking in Hausa and questioning the victims about their numbers and were they were captured because they were quite a handful.
During the question and answer session the women and children responded that they were taken from Woro in Kaiama council so that their relations will know they are still alive.
“When asked how many they were, they answered that they were 176 in number. The same question was repeated to another woman in the video to confirm the figure.
” The person behind the camera also claimed that authorities had earlier announced a lower number of victims and said the video was proof of the actual figure.
“The victims were abducted after armed attackers invaded Woro community on February 3, 2025. During the attack, many lives were lost and homes were destroyed.
” The emergence of this video has increased fear and concern among residents and families of the victims.
“The people of the area continue to hope for the safe return of their loved ones and a lasting solution to the security challenges.” Said a source from the state.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have repelled terrorist activity along the Kwanar Isa–Shinkafi road in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The incident occurred at about 10:35 a.m. on Sept. 29, when troops of 26 Battalion, Forward Operating Base Isa, responded to reports of terrorist activity along the road.
The troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to withdraw from the area.
Following the encounter, the troops maintained patrols and dominated the area to prevent the terrorists from regrouping and threatening motorists and communities along the route.
Security operations remain ongoing in the area as troops continue efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and strengthen security across the axis.

OPWS troops repel terrorist attack, recover rustled cows in Taraba

Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have repelled a suspected terrorist attack on Gwamagira settlement in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, recovering rustled cattle abandoned by the attackers.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, when troops of 114 Battalion (Rangers) at Andami responded to reports of suspected terrorists riding motorcycles attacking the community.
The troops engaged the attackers, forcing them to retreat and abandon the rustled cattle.
However, the troops discovered that the terrorists had killed one civilian and abducted three others during the attack.
The recovered cattle were subsequently returned to their owners, while troops launched efforts to rescue the abducted victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
Security operations are ongoing in the area as troops continue to search for the victims and pursue the fleeing attackers.

Troops rescue NYSC members after abduction in Imo

Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued some prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members after they were abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Onitsha–Owerri road in Imo State.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 1 at Umonuwa village in Mbaise Local Government Area, when troops of 34 Artillery Brigade responded to a reported kidnap incident involving two commercial buses.
Preliminary information indicated that the suspected kidnappers abducted 30 prospective corps members travelling in the two buses, while troops subsequently rescued some of the victims.
The troops, in collaboration with personnel of the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police and Department of State Services, have launched a coordinated operation to track the perpetrators and rescue the remaining victims.
The rescued prospective corps members were handed over to the DSS for debriefing and further assistance.
Security agencies are continuing operations in the area, with further details expected as the operation progresses.
