Lawmaker distributes fertilizer to farmers, others in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has urged the beneficiaries of Hon. Ibrahim Umar Potiskum farmers and artisans’ empowerment programme to use the materials given to them judiciously.

Buni stated this during the distribution of farmers and artisans empowerment materials provided by Hon. Ibrahim Umar Potiskum member representing Nangere/Potiskum federal constituency.

The governor, who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner of Works, Engineer Umar Wakil Duddaye, said from time to time the elected members should see the electorates and provide them with the dividends of democracy.

Buni also called on the electorates to be patient with the elected members, adding that this kind of intervention will continue from time to time, so that people should know what their members are doing.

Speaking, member representing Nangere/Potiskum federal constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Umar Potiskum said he was able to provide some inputs and materials that will help the people to become self-reliant.

“We are try to complement the effort of Governor Mai Mala Buni and whatever we do is just to complement his effort.” Hon. Ibrahim Umar said.

He said he was able to distribute 100 bulls, 50 Plow, 2,800 bags of fertilizers, a number of sewing machines, grinding machines as well as pumping machines at both Nangere and Potiskum local government areas for farmers.

Hon. Umar Potiskum maintained that during his two and half years at the National Assembly, he drilled 21 solar power boreholes, 9 in Nangere and 12 in Potiskum local government.

According to him, “I was able to construct seven classroom blocks with the headmaster’s office as well as with the store in Potiskum and it has been completed and put into use.”

He added that he also constructed 6 classroom blocks in Sabon Garin Nangere and provided them with seats.
