Nigerian Army troops intercept Illicit logistics bound for Cameroon near Gamboru border
By: Zagazola Makama
A significant seizure of suspected contraband by the Nigerian Army troops of Sector 3 Multi National Joint Task Force and Operation Hadin Kai, believed to be logistics supplies for ISWAP elements was made near Gamboru, Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

Zagazola Makama gathered that the interception occurred during a routine patrol along unauthorized crossing points commonly referred to as Gates 3 and 4 on the Nigeria–Cameroon border.

Sources disclosed that the patrol team sighted individuals ferrying assorted items toward the riverbank leading into Cameroon. However, the suspects abandoned the goods and fled across the river upon noticing the patrol’s approach.
Items recovered from the scene include 28 large sacks filled with Coca-Cola and Fanta, three dozen trampoline covers, three cartons of electrical accessories, 19 large cartons of dried fish, and three sacks of fresh fish.

Preliminary assessments suggest the smugglers deliberately avoided official routes to evade scrutiny by security operatives manning legal entry and exit points.
All recovered items are now in secure custody, while surveillance and interdiction efforts across the border corridor have been intensified to cut off supply chains supporting illegal operations.
