Police Rescue 23 Children from Suspected Child Trafficking Syndicate in FCT

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF), FCT Command has rescued 23 children from a suspected child trafficking syndicate operating under the guise of an orphanage.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out by the Monitoring and Mentoring Unit of the command during a routine patrol in Kubwa, where officers observed suspicious activities at Mother Deborah Orphanage.
Acting on the observation, they raided the facility and successfully rescued a three-year-old child who had been reported stolen from Kaduna State.
The sources said further investigations led to the rescue of 22 additional children, including 14 females and 8 males, aged between 2 and 14 years.
The orphanage owner, identified as Ijeoma Andy, and one other suspect were arrested after failing to provide a satisfactory account of the children’s origins.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Kulda community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and setting several homes ablaze.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the assault occurred at about 6:25 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
The terrorists stormed the village located on the fringe of the Sambisa Forest and bordering Borno State catching the local security volunteers during a routine patrol.
Security forces visited the scene. Upon arrival, they recovered the bodies of three slain CJTF operatives.

Borno police recover AK-47 rifle during operation to retrieve rustled sheep in Konduga

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recovered an AK-47 rifle following a joint operation to retrieve rustled domestic animals in Konduga.
Zagazola Makama, gathered that the teams comprising Army, police tactical units, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters recovered the rifle from the bush during efforts to recover stolen sheep.
This development follows earlier reports on acts of terrorism, theft of domestic animals, culpable homicide, and causing grievous hurt in the area.

kidnap victim rescued in jigawa, five suspects killed, five arrested

The Jigawa State Police Command said it has rescued an 80-year-old woman kidnapped in Kano State, neutralized five suspected kidnappers, and arrested five others in a coordinated operation in Garki Local Government Area.
The rescue operation followed intelligence and technical analysis led by the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa Command, CP A. T. Abdullahi.
The operation was carried out on May 16 at about 1:30 a.m. after the police received information that a group of about 12 armed criminals riding five motorcycles had kidnapped one Hajiya Hajara, 80, from Minjibir LGA of Kano State.
Acting on the intelligence, a joint team of police operatives from Gagarawa, Gumel, Garki, Sule-Tankarkar Divisions, supported by Fulani vigilantes and forest hunters under the leadership of ACP Bala Umar, Area Commander Gumel, launched a raid on criminal hideouts.
The hideouts included Wadi Fulani Settlement, GGW Tagwayen Fage, Wusada Fulani Settlement, and Katoro Fulani Camp all in Garki LGA.
“During the raid, a fierce gun duel ensued, which led to the neutralization of five suspects, while five others, including the alleged kingpin, Yahaya (35), of Katoro Fulani Camp, were arrested with gunshot injuries to their legs,” he said.
The kidnapped victim, Hajiya Hajara, was rescued unhurt.
Items recovered during the operation included two AK-47 rifles, one fabricated LAR rifle with 14 rounds of live ammunition, two motorcycles, and two handsets.
All recovered items, corpses, and arrested suspects were taken to Gumel General Hospital for treatment and autopsy.
Sources from the command confirmed that no ransom was paid and no casualties were recorded among the security operatives.
