Troops Intercept 50 Livestock for Illegal Grazing in Mangu Plateau

Troops conducting patrol operations in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have intercepted 50 livestock allegedly found grazing in restricted areas.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Monday when troops of Sector 8 under Operation Enduring Peace intercepted 29 cows and 21 rams at Komtul village in Mangu Local Government Area.

The animals were reportedly discovered grazing in a restricted zone during routine patrol operations.

According to the sources, the livestock were immediately moved to a safe location pending further action.

The Wakilin Gwet was subsequently contacted to assist in identifying the owner of the animals for necessary administrative measures.

Authorities said efforts are ongoing to ascertain ownership and ensure compliance with grazing regulations in the area.
