Journalist Hassan Wuyo: Borno Youth warns Kaduna Gov elect, Uba Sani

By: Our Reporter

Youth groups from Borno State have warned Kaduna Governor elect, Senator Uba Sani that should anything happens to Journalist Ibrahim Hassan Wuyo, he would be held responsible.

They called on Governor Zulum of Borno State, Senator Ali Ndume, NSA Munguno and other notable Nigerians of Borno extraction to advise Senator Uba Sani to desist from harassing Hassan Wuyo or any other Journalists practicing in Kaduna State.

According  to the youth group in a statement signed by Aliyu Ishak ,Ibrahim Hassan Wuyo had told them that they were in the process of reconciliation but some close associates came into the matter with an intent for blackmail.

Recall that the Governor elect harrased, intimidated and threatened the Journalists who worked for Vanguard Media.

Kaduna, the youth said, was home to all Borno indigenes since even the Government House was named and called after an illustrious son of Borno, Sir Kashim Ibrahim  of blessed memory.

In a related development, Kaduna based publisher of Borno extraction, Adamu Garba Askira, in a statement entitled ” Kaduna based veteran journalist Hassan Wuyo life threatened. Borno indigenes warn Kaduna Governor -elect Senator Uba Sani”, stated that “the  2023 general election has come and gone, leaving winners and their henchmen in jubilation well losers in political trauma .

“Although, in the course of politicking in the build up to the general election, politician’s seeking for elective positions and their supporters always turned deft and blind seeing any person or people that are not doing eyes services to them as enemies of progress ,more especially journalists  that are constitutionally empowered to discharge their social responsibilities.”

“This was exactly what entangled a Kaduna based veteran  journalist and Correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper and indigene of Borno State, Hassan Ibrahim Wuyo to be in bad book of Kaduna Governor-elect, Senator Uba Sani.”

“Whether, one looks at Hassan Wuyo’s journalistic antecedence,,he is among the few brilliant and professional journalists that  only loves the profession, not because of what he will earn.”

“When reporting issues especially of human angle story he always ensures a balance reportage in line within ethical and journalistic standard.”

“Personally the Kaduna Governor-elect Senator Uba Sani and the veteran journalists Wuyo have never ever have axe to grind, but based on the later balance reporting on political happenings, coupled with his  zero sycophancy in his practice, could be one of the main  reasons  that prompted some of the Governor-elect supporters to create waves of frictions among them leading to lithreats.”

“Against this backdrop, we  the Borno Youth are warning the Kaduna Governor-elect, Senator Uba Sani and his co-traveller to see Wuyo  as progressive journalists who meant well for the state and nation at large not as fifth Columnists.”

“We call on the security agencies to ensure his life and that of all journalists are well protected in the state.”
