By: Zagazola Makama

Air Component North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai has killed about 17 Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) fighters in another deadly air raid in the northeastern Damboa Local Government area of Borno State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the airstrikes were conducted on Nov. 8, 2023, at about 09:00 hours in AT AJIGIN in the TIMBUKTU Triangle.

The Air Precision-guided Intelligence-led attack, coordinated by Maj. Gen. Gold Chibuisi, Theatre Commander, North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, was carried out after surveillance detected a large gathering of terrorists planning to attack troops’ locations in Wajiroko in Damboa.

The strikes were successful, as the fighter aircraft took out three of the terrorists’ guntrucks, scoring a devastating hit in the terrorists position. One of the gun trucks was firing back at the aircraft. The gun truck was eventually struck and completely destroyed by the fighter jet.

Zagazola understands that a woman who escaped from the Ajigin terrorist enclave after the airstrikes and surrendered to the troops of 21 Armored Brigade Bama revealed that the airstrikes killed 17 of the terrorists while several others were wounded.
