Troops knockout 11 ISWAP terrorists, destroy camps in Sambisa Forest

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid forces have killed Eleven ISWAP terrorists in an extreme intrusion into the insurgents enclaves in Sambisa forest in the North East of Borno state.
The terrorists met their waterloo during the intelligence led sustained offensive which was conducted between May 31 and ended on June 4, 2023 in the terrorists hideouts within the axis of Damboa and Chibok Local Government Areas.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, that the troops stormed and cleared some of the terrorists’ hideouts in Bale, Tirke, Mandari, Molgoi, Bego, Yarwa, Ngurna.
He said that some weapons, ammunition and other logistics were recovered during the joint military operations.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have recovered 34 livestock while herder managing the livestock had gone missing in alleged suspicious secret killing in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 3:05 p.m. on May 19 when troops responded to reports of stray cattle grazing in Mbor village.
On arrival at the scene, the troops reportedly recovered 34 cattle found grazing on cultivated farmland without a herder present.
Sources said the intervention followed concerns that the herder managing the livestock had gone missing or was allegedly attacked in secrete assassination by locals during the dispute.
The livestock were immediately moved to a safe location to prevent further destruction of crops and to avoid escalation of tensions within the community.
Security sources said local stakeholders, including community leaders, were engaged to help trace the whereabout of owner and clarify the circumstances surrounding the missing herder.
They added that investigations were ongoing to establish the whereabouts of the herder and ensure accountability for all parties involved.

Troops Raid Criminal Hideouts, Arrest 10 Suspects in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1 of Operation Safe Haven have conducted coordinated raid operations on suspected criminal hideouts in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, leading to the arrest of 10 suspects.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 9:00 p.m. on May 19 at Gurum and Mista-Ali communities as part of ongoing efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of action within the area.
The troops reportedly stormed identified hideouts and arrested the suspects during the operation without incident.
A total of 10 suspects were taken into custody and are currently undergoing profiling and preliminary investigation.
Security sources said the raid forms part of sustained clearance operations aimed at curbing criminal activities, including banditry, kidnapping, and other related offences across Plateau State.
They added that security patrols and intelligence-driven operations would continue in vulnerable communities to restore lasting peace.

Troops Disrupt Illegal Mining Activities in Plateau

Troops of Sector 4, Sub-Sector 41 of Operation Enduring Peace have disrupted suspected illegal mining activities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the troops responded at about 7:00 p.m. on May 19 following reports of illegal mining operations between NTV and Hirpiya villages.
On arrival at the location, the suspected illegal miners reportedly fled the scene upon sighting the troops.
The troops subsequently secured the area and recovered items believed to have been used for the illegal activities, including one long pipe, one generator, and one pumping machine.
The recovered items have been taken into custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Security sources said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal mining and other criminal activities contributing to insecurity and environmental degradation in Plateau State.
